If you can’t stop thinking about Kelly Ripa’s ’90s bombshell hair from the 2023 Academy Awards, you’ve come to the right place.

Over the weekend, the Live with Kelly and Ryan host, 52, attended the 95th annual Oscars ceremony alongside her husband, Mark Consuelos. While Ripa wore a head-turning see-through gown, it was her bouncy hairstyle that stole the show.

Ripa opted for a more voluminous version of her signature hairstyle, which usually features relaxed curls. For the Oscars, the talk show host took it up a notch and styled her hair in bouncy curls that framed her face. (FYI, her hair was styled by Ryan Trygstad, and her makeup was done by Scott Barnes.)

Live shared a video of the getting-ready process on the show’s official Instagram account. It’s hard to tell what’s happening because the video is sped up. However, it’s clear that Trygstad used Halo extensions (or something similar) to achieve Ripa’s desired look.

Based on our observation, Trygstad styled the bottom layer of her hair before placing the hairpiece. Then, he curled the rest of her locks and teased the crown until it blended seamlessly.

Ripa’s makeup featured a natural lip and a smokey eyeshadow that complemented her black gown by Jason Wu. According to data complied by Dalston Mill Fabrics and Lyst, black is historically the luckiest color to wear to the Oscars—at least for anyone competing the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress categories.

Talk about an unforgettable look.
