She may not be a nominee, but Kelly Ripa is still making waves (pun intended) at the 2023 Oscars.
The 52-year-old television host appeared on the champagne carpet with her hair coiffed in flawless ’90s bombshell waves and wearing a sleeveless, backless, sheer black gown by Jason Wu.
She joined a large group of celebs who wore the night’s biggest trend: black and white. Not only are both colors classics, but according to data complied by Dalston Mill Fabrics and Lyst, black is historically the luckiest color to wear to the Oscars—at least for anyone competing the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress categories.
Ripa appeared alongside her current Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host Ryan Seacrest and future Live with Kelly and Mark co-host Mark Consuelos (who is also her husband of 26 years, NBD). Both men wore classic black tuxedos.
The trio was all smiles as Ripa and Seacrest stepped out before hosting their annual post-ceremony Live After Oscars Show, which will premiere on Monday, March 13 at 9 a.m. ET. In recent years, the tradition has been forced to go remote due to the pandemic, but this year marks a return to form—Ripa and Seacrest will conduct interviews backstage at the Dolby Theater as winners and presenters exit the stage with golden statues in tow.
