Simone Biles is receiving a ton of support from her country. However, there is one person, in particular, that has been cheering her on from across the world and he just shared the sweetest message of love and encouragement.
This week, Biles announced her exit from the women’s team and all-around events at the Tokyo Olympics. USA Gymnastics released a statement revealing that Biles would not compete in the all-around portion of the Games. “After further medical evaluation, Simone Biles has withdrawn from the final individual all-around competition at the Tokyo Olympic Games, in order to focus on her mental health,” part of the statement read. “We wholeheartedly support Simone's decision and applaud her bravery in prioritizing her well-being. Her courage shows, yet again, why she is a role model for so many.”
After choosing to focus on her mental health, the 24-year-old received an outpouring of support, including her boyfriend, Jonathan Owens. On Thursday, the 26-year-old NFL player posted a tribute to his “baby” on Instagram.
