Chrissy Metz Repurposed Her Golden Globes Dress for the ‘Breakthrough’ Premiere

Chrissy Metz took a page out of Tiffany Haddish’s fashion handbook and repurposed an old dress for her latest appearance.

Earlier this week, the This Is Us star, 38, attended the premiere for her brand-new movie, Breakthrough, at the Westwood Regency Theater in Los Angeles. After the screening, Metz posted a side-by-side photo on Instagram and explained why her fiery red ensemble looks familiar.

You see, the actress previously wore the Tanya Taylor dress to the 2019 Golden Globes. But this time, she took off the sleeves and added a sheer black net, creating a seemingly new outfit.

“We couldn’t let this beauty stay in the closet after only wearing it for a few hours!” Metz wrote.

The actress went on to describe the dress transformation, adding, “We decided to wear this magical @tanyataylor dress but switch it up for the @breakthroughmovie premiere (previously worn to #goldenglobes) reimagined and repurposed by taking off the sleeves and adding the net! Big shout out to @danielakurrle.”

Metz isn’t the only actress to repurpose a dress on the red carpet. In 2018, Haddish recycled her white Alexander McQueen dress three times. The Night School star, 39, discussed the outfit in an interview with W magazine and revealed the reason is because she spent $4,000 on it.

Breakthrough tells the inspirational true story of Joyce Smith (Metz), a mother who faces impossible odds after her son falls through an icy Missouri lake, leaving him in a coma. It is based on the best-selling novel The Impossible.

Hey, if Meghan Markle can do it, so can Metz.
