On This Is UsRebecca Pearson always shows up for her daughter Kate (that season finale, though). In real life, Mandy Moore, who plays the Pearson family matriarch on the hit NBC show, is just as present for her on-screen daughter, Chrissy Metz

So when Metz attended the Los Angeles premiere of her brand-new movie, Breakthrough, Moore was right by her side. Not surprisingly, both women looked fabulous.

Metz, who stars in the new family drama, embodied red-carpet glamour in a scarlet gown with a black pleated tulle overlay. The tulle accent added a fun flourish to her otherwise classic gown and framed the collarbone-baring bateau neckline beautifully. She paired the ensemble with strappy black Stuart Weitzman “Nudist” block heels. It was simple, chic, pulled together and totally Metz.

Moore went the opposite route on the color spectrum and put out Christmas vibes in a bright green silk dress with a black bow flourish. The slinky gown featured a high-low hemline and sleek one-shoulder. The This Is Us star accented her outfit with diamond drop Anita Ko earrings and old Hollywood waves.

Moore went on to congratulate her co-star on her new film, writing, “This glorious, gorgeous friend of mine has a movie out on Easter weekend and she will absolutely take your breath away (per usual). It’s impossible not to tear up when she tears up (believe me, I have LOTS of experience with her in this department).”

She went on to explain the premise of Metz’s new movie: “@Breakthroughmovie is a harrowing, miraculous, true story and @chrissymetz shines in every frame. I couldn’t be more proud to see you lead the way on the big screen, @chrissymetz. Love you!!”

There’s nothing like a little Pearson love outside of This Is Us. We’ll file this reunion away for the next time we really miss our favorite ugly-cry show.
