Sure, Burger King is where you can “have it your way,” but it’s no secret that you can customize just about any food or drink at any big-name chain these days. Think Chipotle bowls, Starbucks Frappuccinos, McDonald’s secret menu items—you get the picture. That said, Taco Bell is taking fan-favorite menu tweaks to the next level with a brand-new Fan Style feature that just hit its app yesterday.
Taco Bell Brings Hyper-Custom Ordering to Its App (& You Can Win Big by Using It)
Talk about fire

Fan Style gives customers more control over their food than ever before. You can now build one-of-a-kind orders, name and save them to your app profile and share them with friends and other app users. Not only is this simply fun, but you’ll also score chances to earn rewards, ad placements (yes, you read that right) and even a spot on the national menu.
Even cooler, each Fan Style creation comes with a shareable graphic and link that you can share on social media. Plus, when someone orders your masterpiece, you’ll receive points based on its value. This will be tracked in the app, along with how many times it’s been ordered. Options are endless—take the Dan Made This, as shown in the above photo, which is a Cheesy Gordita Crunch with creamy jalapeño sauce instead of spicy ranch and pickled jalapeños, or Chelle’s Guacarito, a Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito with guacamole and spicy ranch instead of nacho cheese and chicken.
Finally, on July 29 from 2 to 5 p.m., Taco Bell will be unveiling an app-exclusive Tuesday Drop of real-world ad placements that a few lucky fans will be able to claim. I’m talking sky banners, digital billboards, movie theater previews and beyond.
As a food editor who’s tasted the majority of the menu, I can attest that there are endless possibilities. But most interesting to me is that this launch comes on the heels of four Starbucks Secret Menu drinks, created by fans, joining the coffee chain’s app for a limited time. Are hyper-customized orders the next big thing in fast food? I guess we’ll find out.
