‘X-Files’ Fans Will Love This Criminally Underrated Show, According to Entertainment Podcast Hosts

With so many streaming options, it can be hard to settle on something to watch, and with so many different services offering new titles every day, there are some terrific shows that don't get the attention they deserve.

Luckily, Phil Mutz and Rachel Gulmi (the co-hosts of PureWow’s Stream On podcast) are here to help. This week, the two highlighted a criminally underrated show, Evil, and explained why it should be at the top of everyone's list (especially if you were a fan of The X-Files).

Evil is a supernatural drama that follows a forensic psychologist, Dr. Kristen Bouchard (played by Katja Herbers), who recruits a former journalist now studying to be a priest, named David Acosta (Mike Colter), in order to help her solve mysterious paranormal occurrences.

On Stream On, Mutz chose the series as his criminally underrated pick, saying, “What I like about it is that it's very X-Files-y.” He continued, “For anybody who liked The X-Files, I think you'll like Evil. It's got one partner who believes and the other partner who's a skeptic, and they're teamed up to see [these] unexplained things that are happening.”

However, Mutz warned that the show is “very scary,” so if you're not looking for a chilling watch, then Evil may not be for you. “But it is fun and tense,” he added. “And more people should be talking about it.”

After originally premiering on CBS, the show is currently airing its third season on Paramount+.
