When it comes to the nostalgia wave sweeping through pop culture, it’s no surprise that '90s and early '00s shows and movies are making a major comeback. From Gossip Girl to Sex and the City’s reboot, And Just Like That, to 90210, it’s clear that people just can’t get enough of the past. And guess what? If you ask Kel Mitchell, he’s all for giving fans exactly what they want.

At 90s Con, Mitchell took the stage for a solo panel dressed up as Ed from the iconic 1997 movie Good Burger—yes, the Good Burger, which was originally a sketch on All That. So, naturally, the conversation shifted to the idea of a potential third movie and he dropped a bombshell.

“So, here's the thing—we teased it,” Mitchell said, per People. “At the end of the movie, I said, ‘We’re gonna go to space. We’re going to Fast and Furious this thing.’”

Yeah, you read that right: space. He went on to reveal that he and his longtime friend and co-star Kenan Thompson have already talked about the script for a potential Good Burger 3 and it’s looking like it’s really going to happen. “We’ve got to make sure it’s right, just like how Good Burger 2 was,” he said.

As a quick refresher, the original Good Burger follows Dexter Reed (Thompson), a high school student who gets a job at a fast-food joint to pay off the damage he caused to his teacher’s car. There, he teams up with the lovable but clueless Ed (Mitchell) and together they uncover a shady plot by a rival fast-food restaurant. The film became a cult classic and its legacy only grew over the years.

Fast-forward almost three decades later and the much-anticipated Good Burger 2 finally premiered on Paramount+ in November 2023. In this sequel, Dexter and Ed reunite at Good Burger, only to discover a secret about a new competitor to their old rival restaurant.

But here’s some more good news. Mitchell promised fans that they won’t have to wait long for the next installment.

“We’re not gonna make you guys wait over 15 years,” he assured.
