Amazon Prime’s New Sci-Fi Flick Starring Owen Wilson Is Super Intriguing

Amazon Prime recently released its latest film, Bliss, and we’re not going to lie, it’s unlike anything we’ve seen in a while.

In short, the science-fiction drama follows a seemingly unfulfilled man that crosses paths with a mysterious woman who manages to convince him that their lives are nothing more than a simulated reality. Unfortunately, it's not long before the line between real and fake is blurred and the duo must decide where they truly belong. Decider described it as a mix of The Matrix with a dash of Serenity.

Amazon’s official synopsis reads, “Bliss is a mind-bending love story following Greg (Owen Wilson), who, after recently being divorced and fired, meets the mysterious Isabel (Salma Hayek), a woman living on the streets and convinced that the polluted, broken world around them is just a computer simulation. Doubtful at first, Greg eventually discovers there may be some truth to Isabel’s wild conspiracy.”

Unfortunately, the flick didn’t do so well when it comes to critic reviews (Rotten Tomatoes only gave it a score of 25 percent). However, viewers seemed to enjoy the film for the creative ideas and star-studded cast. In addition to Hayek and Wilson, the drama also stars Nesta Cooper (The Edge of Seventeen), Jorge Lendeborg Jr. (Spider-Man: Homecoming), Ronny Chieng (Crazy Rich Asians), Steve Zissis (The Comey Rule), Joshua Leonard (The Blair Witch Project) and Bill Nye (Bill Bye, The Science Guy).

This one will definitely have you thinking.
