Fall is my favorite season, and yes, it has everything to do with trying out new beauty trends. Once September rolls around, I’m already itching for a new haircut, but I also have my mind set on booking an appointment for a trendy manicure and trying out some cool makeup looks this season. To get ahead of the game, I tapped a few makeup artists and manicurists to share their predictions for the top fall beauty trends that are going to be everywhere soon. From spider lashes’ to ‘90s grunge manicures, here’s what you can expect to see in the months ahead.

Meet the Experts

His previous clients include Ryan Destiny, Raven Goodwin and Novi Brown.

1. Latte Smokey Eyes

With fall calling for creamy browns and warm neutrals, Ward predicts latte smokey eyes are going to be a popular this season. “It’s a soft wearable take on the smokey eye. Inspired by your favorite fall latte, it’s cozy, dimensional and effortlessly blended,” he shares. His trick to achieving this glam look is using bronzer and highlighter. According to Ward, the cream bronzer provides a warm, smooth base, while applying the matte bronzer all over the lid adds depth and smokiness. Then, finish the eye look off with highlighter, placing some on the inner corners and under brow bone for a radiant finish.

2. Glossy Berry Lips

I predicted berry lips were going to be a hit in 2024, and I’m glad to see they’re making a comeback for fall. Ward believes high-shine lips in berry and plum shades will be taking over our feeds. “The look is rich, bold and juicy. It’s a refreshing shift from the matte nude lips I’ve seen in past seasons,” he says. “The glossy finish adds a sense of freshness and moisture. It’s bold without being overdone.” The three products you’ll need: a matte lipstick as your base, a lip liner to contour your pout and a lip oil for a glossy finish.

3. Spider Lashes

If you want to make a statement this season, Wren says feathery lashes are out and spidery lashes are in. “Spider lashes focus on creating individual clumps for lashes that are intentionally stuck together. This trend embraces the imperfections of makeup application with punk spirit to it.” Although Florence Pugh wore them dramatically at this year’s Harris Reed Show, there’s a more subtle approach you can take for your day to day. Wren recommends curling your lashes before layering on volumizing mascara. She adds, “Let the first coat dry down for a few seconds before going in with extra coats. You can use a tweezer to pinch together 2 to 3 lashes to create the lash ‘spikes.’”

4. Boy Blush

In 2024, SEO Editor Marissa Wu reported that ‘boyfriend blush’ was a rising technique that took a page out of a royal’s book. Briceno spots its return, sharing, “This trend is all about blush that looks accidental, like your face just naturally flushed. It’s not about placement or perfection, it’s about making the skin feel alive. There’s no contour, no shaping, just warmth where you’d naturally get red. It works beautifully on bare skin or layered over a tint. I love this kind of color on clients who don’t wear a lot of makeup. It’s easy, youthful, and instantly fresh.” In order to achieve the trend, the MUA suggests using a cream or liquid blush, warming up your fingers before pressing it directly on the cheeks and across the nose.

5. Coffeehouse Nails

According to Kandalec, every shade of brown is going to dominate the season. “Rich browns and earthy shades are a consistent favorite throughout fall. They are elegantly chic and understatedly cool,” she shares. Whether you prefer an espresso hue or pumpkin spice (aka burnt orange-brown) base, this color fam should be on your radar.

6. Denim Blues

As soon as the cool weather hits, I’m swapping my shorts for my favorite pair of denim. This latest manicure pays homage to our go-to piece, per Kandalec. “A mid-tone aqua in a magnetic finish is eye-catching, especially in the sun,” she explains. “While I was in Japan, every single major nail brand had a full collection of these cat-eye polishes, a sure sign that they are here to stay.” Use a bold blue polish or take it up a notch with a metallic finish that will sure to turn heads.

7. ‘90s Grunge

Since grunge makeup is returning, it only makes sense to apply the buzzy aesthetic on our nails. Manicurist Yankee is eyeing this manicure for fall, telling me, “The grunge era of the ‘90s is back. For nails, this means simple, sultry and moody colors. It fits perfectly with the season’s usual color palette—just with more attitude.” If you want to try the trend, use burgundy, maroon or black nail polish. From there, you can leave as is or make it entirely your own with striking nail art.

8. Animal Print Revival

After seeing it all over the Autumn/Winter 2025/2026 runways, Huber-Millet predicts animal prints are going to have a major resurgence come September. She further explains, “Animal motifs are having a moment again and I’m especially drawn to autumnal colourways in tortoise and leopard. These patterns are bold yet surprisingly wearable–the perfect way to add that confident, cool-girl edge without tipping into OTT territory.” Whether you prefer a French tip or mix and match overlay, this design is sure to be the bold mani you’re searching for.

9. Polka Dots

Pinterest just released their Fall 2025 trend report and noticed polka dot manicures were having an uptick. This classic design also gets the stamp of approval from our experts, who predict it’s getting a modern twist for fall. “I love the versatility: larger, bolder dots pop beautifully on almond or squoval nails, while micro-dots feel chic and universally flattering, even on shorter nails. It’s a small detail that makes a big impact,” shares Huber-Millet. “Polka dots have always had a playful charm, but this year they’re evolving into moodier, richer tones.”
