We’ve reached the final week of 2023 and there’s a lot happening. Mercury retrograde is back in Sagittarius and we’re now in the more chaotic part of the retrograde systems review. We’re heading to the family holiday party without a filter. (The hot takes get especially spicy on the 27th.) Emotions are high and peak at the full moon in Cancer on the 26th which brings some heartfelt disclosures and cathartic cries.

Though most of this week is absolutely bonkers, things do end on a sweet note. Venus enters fun loving Sagittarius on the 29th, and then expansion planet Jupiter stations direct on the 30th restoring hope and optimism. Flexibility is key to get through this rollercoaster of a week, and know that calm is waiting on the other side.

(Horoscopes follow for each sign. If you know your rising sign, reading for that sign too will provide further insight.)

Aries (March 21 - April 19)

You tried to avoid the usual family holiday dramatics by jetting off for a trip or spending a relaxing week home alone, but you still might find yourself long-distance mediating siblings or rehashing a parental feud. The full moon in Cancer on the 26th illuminates both the best and worst parts of your home and family. What do you need to make your inner world a more comfortable place to be?

This week’s mantra: “Comfort.”

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)

The full moon in Cancer on the 26th sheds light on how far you’ve come in building trust and communication over the last six months. That said, your boundaries do get tested this week when a quick trip out of town with your sister or bestie ends up more hectic than relaxing. Hope and optimism, as well as faith in yourself, is restored by the end of the week, but it takes some compromise to get there.

This week’s mantra: “Trust.”

Cheeky illustration of identical twins with long dark hair and a statement earrings back-to-back, smirking at each other.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)

Remember that argument with your partner from Thanksgiving weekend? Yeah, you thought you had everything worked out, but it turns out there’s still some issues that need to be resolved. The full moon in Cancer on the 26th sheds light on your personal values and highlights the ways that you don’t see eye to eye with even your closest people. What do you need to feel more resourced and secure?

This week’s mantra: “Resolve.”

Cancer (June 21 - July 22)

The full moon on the 26th is in your sign and you’re feeling emotional, like every win is bittersweet. You’re happier and healthier than you’ve been in a long time, and all the compliments you’re getting at Christmas parties are affirming that. But you’re also feeling exhausted by how much effort you have to put into feeling base level OK. Why is being an adult so time consuming? Taking time away from celebrations to work out or move your body keeps you feeling more grounded.

This week’s mantra: “Move.”

Cheeky illustration of a woman of Asian-descent wearing a sheer coral top with her hair half-up in pigtail puns, the rest down. She is hugging a lion, who is smirking.

Leo (July 23 - August 22)

After spending the last couple of weeks grinding away, you’re finally ready to take a break for Christmas and relax. The full moon in Cancer on the 26th falls in your unconscious sector and you may find that you want to excuse yourself early from the family parties to get some solo rest and relaxation. You’re tempted to handle everything yourself but grounding comes when you ask for support.

This week’s mantra: “Space.”

Virgo (August 23 - September 23)

The cute part of Mercury retrograde is now over and you’re in the throes of some tense and messy holiday situations. Whether you’re visiting home with your partner for the first time or yearning for a lost love while stuck at your parents’ house for Christmas, there’s a lot of feelings to work through. The full moon in Cancer on the 26th sheds light on your dreams and goals. What are you ready to divulge?

This week’s mantra: “Spill.”

Libra (September 23 - October 21)

Your energy is being pulled in every possible direction this week as both family and work obligations pile up. You’re exhausted, and that’s valid, but unfortunately you can’t skip out on your nephew’s hockey game or get out of covering a shift for your coworker who’s out of town for the holidays. The full moon in Cancer on the 26th puts your professional achievements in the spotlight. Make sure you take a moment away from the chaos to celebrate.

This week’s mantra: “Lift.”

Scorpio (October 22 - November 21)

You wanted a chill vibe for the holidays this year, but you’re mostly feeling stressed out about your finances. Why is it so expensive to have fun? The vibe is: close your eyes and don’t check your bank balance until 2024. That said, the full moon in Cancer on the 26th illuminates a larger goal that will require you to be a bit more frugal in the coming year.

This week’s mantra: “Priorities.”

Cheeky illustration of a Black woman with purple hair on an orange background. She's in a wearing jean jacket, with a quiver strapped across her back and arrows sticking out.

Sagittarius (November 22 - December 21)

The family holiday party is anything but chill this year. Whether you’re hosting or heading out of town to visit your parents, you might find yourself in an argument with your mom, sister or roommate that lasts through the weekend. The full moon in Cancer on the 26th highlights where you could establish better boundaries in your closest relationships. Ouch! Luckily the week ends with Venus entering your sign on the 29th bringing some sweet relief and plenty of compliments.

This week’s mantra: “Limit.”

Capricorn (December 22 - January 19)

There’s so much on your plate this week, but it mostly feels like you’re just going through the motions, being ushered from one thing to the next. The full moon in Cancer on the 26th highlights your closest relationships and could come with an exciting offer or proposal that shakes you out of fantasy land. Your challenge heading into 2024 is to find a better balance between being in the action and picking up the slack behind the scenes.

This week’s mantra: “Accept.”

Cheeky image of a Black woman with blue hair on a light blue background. She's holding blue water in her palms, which is bubbling up and taking shape as her hair.

Aquarius (January 20 - February 18)

What was meant to be an easy holiday with friends, away from the drama of family, ends up being much more chaotic than expected. Your bestie’s attempts to be the “chill host” backfire and you end up putting in way more time and energy to the festivities than you wanted to. The full moon in Cancer on the 26th brings a work or health issue to the forefront that needs to be sorted before the new year.

This week’s mantra: “Prepare.”

Cheeky illustration of a gender-fluid white person with short-cropped orange hair. They're wearing a light blue halter top as two bright pink koi fish circle their head.

Pisces (February 19 - March 20)

The chaos vibes are high this week and, per usual, everyone’s looking to you for guidance through the storm. Miscommunications from late November have returned to your inbox and you may have to step back into the office to clean up the mess. The full moon in Cancer on the 26th illuminates your progress on both a creative and romantic front this year, and may bring you an unexpected New Year’s Eve date.

This week’s mantra: “Both.”
