The 2024 Astrology Report: Your Horoscope Snapshot for the Year Ahead

If astrology works—and I, your astrologer, think it does at least 70 percent of the time—2024 promises to be another remarkable year. To help prepare you for the cosmic ebbs and flows ahead, we’ve prepared you a guide to 2024’s Astrology.

Remember: what’s going on in the sky interacts with everyone’s chart differently. Some transits might be a big deal for you and others might pass by without you noticing much; a transit that’s easy for you might be extra difficult for a friend. Knowing what’s coming helps us prepare not only individually but collectively. Astrology, at its best, is a tool not only for judging the quality of time, but also for understanding how our individual experiences relate to the collective. 

Now let’s get into 2024.

1. Closing Out One Major Chapter and Starting a New One

Transit: Pluto enters Aquarius

When: January 20 through September 1; November 19 through 2044!

Who This Impacts the Most: Aquarius, anyone with planets or placements in the early degrees of Aquarius, Taurus, Leo and Scorpio

Pluto—the era defining planet of transformation—enters Aquarius on January 20 where it will remain—except for a brief dip back into Capricorn from September 1 through November 19, 2024— until 2044! Pluto in Aquarius brings major transformations (some might say mutations) to social structures, technology and collective thought. Just to give an idea of the impact: the last time Pluto was in Aquarius was the late 1700’s during the American Revolution, French Revolution and the start of the Industrial Revolution. Think back to March through June of  2023 when the first ingress of Pluto into Aquarius brought endless conversation about the ethics and impact of AI. Category is: Aliens. Robots. The future is now. 

2. “In My Manifesting Era”

Transit: Saturn in Pisces

When: All year

Who This Impacts the Most: Pisces, Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius

Saturn—planet of limits, structure and responsibilities—spends all of 2024 in mutable water sign Pisces. Though Saturn’s rigidity and Pisces’ magical thinking may seem like polar opposites, together these forces encourage making our dreams into a reality. 2023’s Saturn lesson was about walking away from tired ideas of success toward different dreams for the future, and now 2024’s Saturn lesson is about balancing the material and spiritual, reconciling our inner beliefs and outer reality. This is the year the ideas are coming off the Pinterest vision board and making their way into our everyday.

3. Quality Over Quantity in Relationships

Transit: Eclipses in Aries/Libra

When: March 25, April 8, October 2; Eclipse season in March-April and September-October

Who This Impacts the Most: Aries and Libra; Honorable Mention to Cancer and Capricorn

On July 17, 2023, the lunar nodes switched into Aries and Libra kicking off a new era of bold choices. We’re letting go of people-pleasing behaviors. Eclipses happen every six months when the sun and moon align with the lunar nodes, and in 2023 we had two “preview eclipses” in Aries and Libra on April 20 and October 14 respectively. Now in 2024, we get to see how these stories play out. Aries is all about autonomy and Libra is all about balance, but with this configuration, quality is much more important than quantity. People are going to care a lot less about what other people think under these skies so get ready for clean breaks and hot takes.

4. Everyday Experimentation

Transit: Jupiter conjunct Uranus in Taurus

When: April 20

Who This Impacts the Most: Taurus, Sagittarius, Pisces

A major theme that’s been brewing since May 2023 culminates on April 20 when Jupiter meets Uranus in the sky. This is a once in 12 year transit  that brings major artistic and scientific innovations. The last one in 2010 and 2011 happened in Aries and launched our collective personal brand era (it’s no coincidence that Instagram was founded during this transit). This time happening in Taurus, we can expect cultural shocks in the economy, food systems and the literal Earth itself. On a personal level, many may be drawn to change up their beauty routine, personal style and organizational methods. Vibe is: upcycled bullet journals and compostable eyebrow tint.

5. Sorting Through Chaos

Transit: Jupiter in Gemini

When: May 25 onward

Who This Impacts the Most: Gemini, Pisces, Sagittarius, Virgo

On May 25, Jupiter—planet of expansion, freedom and relief—enters Gemini for the first time in 12 years. The last time Jupiter was in Gemini was June 2012 - June 2013. Looking back to that time period may give you clues about what areas of your life will begin to grow, flourish and reach new heights come the late Spring and Summer. Gossip, chatter and intellectual rabbit holes reign supreme under this influence, and the most success will be found for those who are able to sort through the chaos.
