The rollercoaster ride of April 2024 reaches its final culmination with the full moon in Scorpio on the 23rd. Arriving just as the sun squares off with life-changing Pluto, this full moon is here to reveal what’s been long repressed. Though it’s painful to face with the mess of it all, it’s also very healing. Better to spend your energy sorting through the muck than suppressing the inevitable.

Mercury retrograde ends on the 25th and conversations that stalled in mid-March pick up again. Communication is still slow and frazzled for now, but soon will be back to “normal” (whatever that means these days).

(Horoscopes follow for each sign. If you know your rising sign, reading for that sign too will provide further insight.)

Aries (March 21 - April 19)

The full moon in Scorpio on the 23rd reveals the ugly truth about an agreement, contract or close relationship. That conversation you’ve been avoiding can no longer be swept to the side or postponed until next week. If things are going to move forward, you have to get real about what you really want. Your worth is not negotiable, and maybe part of living authentically is about moving on without them.

This week’s mantra: “Separate.”

Cheeky illustration of a young non-binary person petting a bull.

Taurus (April 20 - May 20)

The full moon in Scorpio on the 23rd is a do-or-die moment for one of your closest relationships. “Should I stay or should I go?” is the question. Maybe you’re about to propose to your girlfriend, or confess your feelings to a friend, or sign a lease with your business partner. Festina lente, a Latin adage which means “make haste slowly,” is a phrase to keep in mind this week. Your assignment is to act decisively, but also with grace, discernment and compassion.

This week’s mantra: “Intent.”

Cheeky illustration of identical twins with long dark hair and a statement earrings back-to-back, smirking at each other.

Gemini (May 21 - June 20)

The full moon in Scorpio on the 23rd is here to show how you have (or haven’t) been taking care of yourself over the past six months. It’s not easy to get back into a routine, especially when life has been hectic and all your energy has been going into making big changes. As Mercury stations retrograde on the 25th, you’re forced to slow down and take things one step at a time to get back on track.

This week’s mantra: “Slow and steady.”

After months of dating someone new under the guise of, “yeah I don’t really care whether or not I have kids,” this lunation makes it crystal clear whether starting a family is something you want or you don’t. Same thing goes for your creative projects, romantic needs and sexuality. Don’t hold back.

Virgo (August 23 - September 23)

Conversations with your barista or friends at the local bar bring some profound insights and are much more than idle ways to pass the time.
