Move over, Princess Eugenie. There’s another pregnant royal in the family and her name is Zara Tindall.
On Wednesday, her husband, Mike Tindall, revealed that he and Queen Elizabeth's granddaughter are expecting their third child together. He broke the exciting news (and even revealed whether he wants a boy or a girl) during a visit to The Good, The Bad & The Rugby podcast.
“It’s been a good week for me, had a little scan last week—third Tindall on its way,” the 42-year-old royal told his cohosts. “We’re not sure what to do. I’d like a boy this time. I’ve got two girls. I would like a boy, but I will love it whatever, whether it’s a boy or a girl but please be a boy!”
And while they are still in the early stages of the pregnancy, the Tindalls already have names on their mind. When asked what he and his wife were considering, he jokingly replied, "Covey or Covina.” (The joke seemingly referring to the current COVID-19 pandemic.)
The couple are are already parents to daughters Mia Grace, 6, and Lena Elizabeth, 2. However, they have yet to break the news to the girls about their new sibling.
“We haven’t told Mia yet just because we knew she would tell everyone at school,” Tindall continued. “We will tell her now that we’ve gone through the scan. Yes, of course, we will tell her. I think she’ll be happy about it. She has been requesting another sister or brother, so we’ve hopefully fulfilled that role for her. She just wants something different now. Lena is growing up—she’s two-and-a-half now. She wants someone younger to play with and dress up."
Congrats to the soon-to-be family of five! We’ll be waiting impatiently for more details.
