Taylor Swift enlisted a foolproof glam squad for the 2020 Academy of Country Music Awards: herself.
Last night, the 30-year-old singer took the stage for the 55th annual ACM Awards. According to People magazine, Swift did her own hair, makeup and styling for the virtual event, which featured her first-ever live performance of “Betty.”
The musician turned to Stella McCartney for her outfit, which consisted of a flashy burgundy turtleneck, tan high-waisted pants and black heels.
Swift styled her hair into a casual low bun, allowing her bangs to frame her face. The “You Need to Calm Down” singer opted for a natural makeup look, featuring rosy cheeks and an orange-pink lip.
The news might shock some Swift fans, since she’s known for getting fully glammed up for awards shows, complete with costume changes during performances. However, there’s no denying the subtle fashion look complements her latest album, Folklore.
Swift previously discussed the new tracks during an interview on Country Radio, where she explained the meaning behind “Betty.”
“Everybody makes mistakes, everybody really messes up sometimes and this is a song that I wrote from the perspective of a 17-year-old boy,” she said. “I’ve always loved that in music you can kind of slip into different identities and you can sing from other people’s perspectives. So, that’s what I did on this one.”
