Sarah Ferguson Celebrates Arrival of Princess Eugenie’s Baby: ‘I’m a Granny’

No one is more excited about the birth of Princess Eugenie’s first child than grandma Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson. (And this video is proof.)

On a brand-new episode of her YouTube series Storytime With Fergie and Friends, Ferguson gave a special shout-out to her new grandchild.

In the video, the 61-year-old royal revealed that she couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome her first grandson. Shortly before reading Baby on the Way by Hannah Davison, Marco Palmieri and Flicka Williams, Ferguson waved a magic wand and said, “Hello, magic dust is in the air! Very exciting times, and I’m a granny!”

Ferguson is referring to her daughter, Princess Eugenie, who recently gave birth to her first child with her husband, Jack Brooksbank. Earlier this week, the royal family announced the newborn’s arrival on its official Twitter account, which read: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie was safely delivered of a son today, 9th February 2021, at 0855hrs at The Portland Hospital. Jack Brooksbank was present. The baby weighs 8lbs 1oz.”

The statement also confirmed that several members of the royal family have been informed of the baby’s arrival. “The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Duke of York, Sarah, Duchess of York, and Mr. and Mrs. George Brooksbank have been informed and are delighted with the news,” it continued.
