Sarah Ferguson Is Launching Story Time, Royals Edition and We’re More Excited Than Our Kids

If bedtime stories with Josh Gad and Reese Witherspoon weren’t enough, no worries. Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson is joining the club.

On Wednesday, the 60-year-old royal (and daughter-in-law to Queen Elizabeth) launched “Storytime With Fergie and Friends” on her YouTube channel. In an introduction video, she explained that every day during the U.K. coronavirus lockdown, she’ll be reading a traditional children’s book for “all of the children out there who just need a little bit of magic.” First up was Hairy Maclary from Donaldson’s Dairy by Lynley Dodd. (We’ve never heard of this book, but maybe it’s a British thing?) A new video will go live at 4 p.m. every weekday (that’s 11 a.m. EST), with a longer story time every Saturday.

And according to an accompanying Instagram post, Ferguson will be reading her own stories (yep, apparently she’s also a children’s book author) and asking “friends to join in.” By friends, we certainly hope she means fellow royals.

Sure, your Frozen-obsessed kids might be more interested in Gad’s familiar voice, and they probably have absolutely no idea who Sarah Ferguson is. But there’s no time like the present to familiarize them with the royal family tree…right?

In any case, they’re getting free entertainment out of it. You’re getting four minutes of peace, which is kind of a lot these days.
