Sarah Ferguson Says Princess Diana Would Be ‘So Proud’ of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry

It’s a very rare occasion when a member of the royal family discusses Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s decision to step away from their royal duties. However, Sarah Ferguson is opening up about how she believes Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, would view the situation.

This week, the Duchess of York made a special appearance on the Australian radio station KIIS 1065. During the interview, she was asked about the late princess's sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.

“I think they’re exceptional,” the 61-year-old said per The Independent. “Diana would be very proud of her sons and I think they’re exceptional, exceptional boys with exceptional wives and fabulous children and so I think that she would be going, ‘YES!’”

Of course, she was also asked about what Diana would have thought about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s decision to step down as senior members of the royal family and to build a financially independent life in California. Fergie, who had a close relationship with the Princess of Wales, stated that Diana would have been “very proud.”

“I think that what she would have been is very proud of her boy standing tall and firm. They’re very like her and I think that she would be proud,” she revealed before discussing how much she believed Di would love being a grandmother. “Oh my goodness, can you imagine the grandmother races that we would have together? The parties…I would bounce her off the bouncy castle, that’s for sure. Although she would outrun me, she always outran me. She was like a gazelle. And of course, you know, her tinkering laughter…what a beautiful woman.”

We 100 percent agree with you, Ferg.
