After much anticipation, Meghan Markle's new podcast Confessions of a Female Founder just dropped its first episode today — and the royal is keeping it real. In this debut episode, Markle sat down with her close friend Whitney Wolfe Herd, the founder and CEO of Bumble, to chat about building businesses, balancing family life and everything in between and in a super candid moment, the two revealed they had a shared experience during their pregnancies.

Markle, 43, who shares two kids with Prince Harry (son Prince Archie, 5, and daughter Princess Lilibet, 3), opened up about her struggle with postpartum preeclampsia.

“We both had very similar experiences, though we didn’t know each other at the time, with postpartum and we both had preeclampsia. Postpartum preeclampsia,” the mom of two shared. “It’s so rare and so scary.”

Postpartum preeclampsia, which is related to high blood pressure after childbirth, can cause serious health risks like stroke or brain damage if untreated, according to the Mayo Clinic.

Markle also revealed how tough it was to navigate this health scare while managing everything else in her life. "The world doesn’t know what’s happening, but those things are huge medical scares," she added.

Markle first teased her podcast in March, sharing the show’s artwork and announcing it on Instagram. "I’m so excited to share with you something else I’ve been working on: Confessions of a Female Founder, my new podcast with @lemonadamedia!" she wrote.

She went on to share how she’s been having real talks with incredible women who turned dreams into reality, growing small ideas into big businesses. "They’re opening up, sharing their tips, tricks (and tumbles), and letting me pick their brains as I build out my own business, As Ever. It has been absolutely eye-opening, inspiring… and fun! (Because what’s the point if we can’t have some fun on this wild adventure?)"

I'm here for these real conversations, Meghan. Keep ‘em coming.
