Here’s all the royal news you need to know for the week of January 25, 2024.

Prince Harry Meghan Markle Red Carpet Bob Marley Premiere CAT
  • This week, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry made a surprise appearance at the Bob Marley: One Love movie premiere in Jamaica.
  • For the event, the Duchess of Sussex rocked a Carolina Herrera skirt ($5,555) with a chic black spaghetti-strap top, large 18K gold hammered disc earrings ($3,250) from Jennifer Meyer Jewelry and a Jimmy Choo Black J Box Clutch ($1,050), which is currently out of stock.
  • During his solo appearance at the Living Legends of Aviation Awards, where he was honored for serving as a helicopter pilot during his service in the British Army, Harry poked fun at his dad, King Charles, when he told the story about their first-ever helicopter flight together.
  • Misan Harriman, who is the famous photographer behind Meghan Markle’s second pregnancy photoshoot, scored an Oscar nom for Best Live-Action Short Film for his 2023 project, The After.
Queen Camilla New Striking Portrait CAT
  • This past Wednesday, Queen Camilla was photographed greeting well-wishers during her solo trip to Swindon. The royal family shared a striking photo of the queen taken at the outing on Instagram, which showed the royal (fully in focus) shaking hands with a fan.
  • During the public appearance, the queen sported mismatched earrings along with a tan brushed coat with a Vintage Alhambra 5 Motifs 18-carat yellow gold and agate bracelet by Van Cleef & Arpels.
  • When King Charles ascended the throne, he openly admitted that he wanted to have a slimmed-down monarchy. On this week’s episode of the Royally Obsessed podcast, hosts Roberta Fiorito and Rachel Bowie discuss (with a special guest!) the state of the monarchy given the king and his daughter-in-law Kate Middleton’s recent health issues.
  • In an excerpt taken from royal author Robert Hardman’s new book, The Making of a King: King Charles III and the Modern Monarchy (which just hit store shelves on January 18), he talks about how the queen’s family would often call her “Lorraine,” which is meant to be a play on “La Reine” in French which stands for “Queen.” However, the king disliked the moniker.
  • The queen met with staff and survivors at Refuge Charity’s Gaia Centre in South London and wrote a heartfelt message to the violence and abuse victims.
  • The king and queen sent a special audio message to those celebrating Burns Night, a Scottish holiday, on the royal family’s Instagram page.

  • In photos shared by the Daily Mirror, the Duchess of York can be seen smiling and waving to fans as she leaves the facility after a doctor’s appointment. In an update, Ferguson told fans that she is doing “fine.”
  • Princess Beatrice made a surprise appearance at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, to support her younger sister Princess Eugenie, who was one of the panelists. She stepped out wearing a cropped soft jacket from Zara ($50) and it’s still in stock.
  • On Wednesday, the Duchess of Edinburgh took part in a menstrual health workshop with the female students of Harris Girls’ Academy in South-East London.
  • The Princess Royal recently held an Investiture at Winsor Castle for recipients, including film director and producer Sir Stephen Frears and Simon Daglish OBE, who is the co-founder of Walking With The Wounded.
  • Prince Edward traveled to the British overseas territory St. Helena to meet a 192-year-old Tortoise named Jonathan, who is currently being housed at the Plantation House on the island.
  • Princess Diana’s brother, Charles Spencer, dedicated a heartfelt tribute to his late mom, Frances Shand Kydd, on what would have been her 88th birthday. The throwback photo (shared on his IG Story) featured a much younger Charles with his mom and older sister, Lady Elizabeth Sarah Lavinia McCorquodale.
