Leave it to Prince Harry to crack a rare joke about his dad while taking a trip down memory lane.

During a solo appearance in Beverly Hills for the Living Legends of Aviation Awards, the Duke of Sussex, 39, opened up to the event's host, John Travolta, about his first-ever helicopter flight. Apparently, he was initially eager to get on board, but when his father, King Charles III, took the controls in the cockpit, the prince recalled how his mood changed.

"I think I was maybe seven or eight years old in a Wessex helicopter, and I jumped into it so excited," he said. "And then my father jumped in behind the controls and I was terrified."

A fan shared footage of the moment on Twitter, where the royal is seen standing in the audience at the Beverly Hilton to share his funny story. After he mentioned his dad's piloting skills, the crowd burst into laughter—but King Charles wasn't the only target of his playful jokes.

When Prince Harry was inducted into the Living Legends of Aviation by Travolta, he also quipped about the Grease actor's famous encounter with his late mother, Princess Diana, in 1985, when they danced together at the White House.

"Thanks very much, Captain John...Don't go running away," he began. "I was one year old when you danced with my mom. As you’ve told everybody here and continue to dine out on that, probably every single night. But look at us now! It’s great. So, if we’re not going to dance together, we’ll fly together."

The Living Legends of Aviation Awards were established to celebrate and honor those who've "made significant contributions to aviation/aerospace." It comes as no surprise that Prince Harry was an honoree, since, according to the official royal website, he served in the British Army for ten years and rose to the rank of Captain, undertaking two tours of Afghanistan.

Major congrats to the duke for receiving such a big honor (and for delivering the best laughs).
