Here’s all the royal news you need to know for the week of June 30, 2022.
- It was a fashion-filled week for the royals, especially Kate Middleton, who stunned us with the powder blue duster blazer that she wore while visiting the unveiling of her and Prince William's first joint portrait. The blazer was layered over a LK Bennett Madison dress and paired with Emmy London heels.
- Then, Middleton completely switched up her look in a throwback photo posted to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's Instagram (seen above), where she donned head-to-toe military gear.
- Princess Beatrice stole the show at The Alchemist’s Feast in a sequin-covered gown with a plunging neckline and large bell sleeves. She cinched the gown with a black belt, which matched perfectly with the headband on top of her wavy hairstyle.
- Royally Obsessed podcast host Rachel Bowie also tracked down the “Carolena” dress from Reformation (in Pompadour), which Princess Beatrice wore to the Chelsea Flower Show in May. (Oh, and it's still in stock if you want to buy one for yourself.)
- For all of June, Queen Elizabeth has been rocking one of her favorite prints: florals. So, we rounded up five times the queen sported the fashion style during one of her public events (and looked fabulous, of course).
- Queen Elizabeth made her first public appearance since the Platinum Jubilee, when she traveled to Scotland for the Ceremony of the Keys on Monday, June 27. Her Royal Majesty was all smiles as she was joined by her youngest son, Prince Edward, and his wife Sophie, Countess of Wessex.
- The queen also released a rare public statement to celebrate the unveiling of the National Windrush Monument at Waterloo Station in London, and she signed it “Elizabeth R.”
- While celebrating Windrush Day (which marks Caribbean immigrants arriving in the U.K. in 1948), Middleton decided to embark on one of her favorite hobbies: getting behind the camera. As she interacted with a group of young British-Caribbean artists at Brixton House, the royal picked up a video camera and started filming their surroundings.
- We also learned that Prince George shares an interest in environmental protection with his father, Prince William. Charlie Mayhew, who is the chief executive of the non-profit, Tuft, revealed that the young royal led a fundraiser early on in the pandemic in an effort to help protect the wildlife in Africa.
- The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were in full-on parenting mode during a recent trip to East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) in Cambridgeshire, where they knelt down to talk with kids, took part in finger painting and more.
