The One Fashion Style Queen Elizabeth Can’t Get Enough Of

We're always marveling at the fashion picks of Kate Middleton and Princess Beatrice, but let's not forget about the true fashion icon that started it all: Queen Elizabeth. While she's known for her dazzling brooch collection and bold color suits, there's a signature print she's constantly relying on for her royal outings. Enter florals. The 96-year-old monarch is a big fan of the print and wears it even beyond the spring season.

It's not uncommon for a royal to rock florals—in fact, we've seen it many times from our favorite royal family members. But for Queen Elizabeth, the striking print has been her go-to all June long. Don't believe us? Here are five times to prove that the Queen isn't messing around when it comes to her favorite print.

1. Zoom...but Make It Fashionable

It all started on June 6, when the Queen was chatting with Dylan Alcott, a paralympic basketball champion and Australian of the Year. The 96-year-old smiled brightly, donning a white blazer decked out in purple and pink flowers. She also also included her signature pearl necklace and earrings to bring the whole outfit together.

2. Pretty In Peonies

By June 23, Queen Elizabeth was doing back-to-back outings in different floral attires. When she was awarded the special Canterbury Cross for her services to the Church of England, she was rocking an all-white dress with rosy pink peonies, a silver brooch and a new snazzy 'do for the special occasion.

3. Bold, Bright & Yellow

Then, she switched it up when she met with Margaret Beazley, the governor of New South Wales, Australia. She opted for a bright yellow print with blue florals. Again, not forgetting her pearls around her neck to keep things elegant.

4. Out Of The Blue

Fast-forward to today when she met with Nicola Sturgeon, first minister of Scotland. Queen Elizabeth wore a blue dress with purple florals this time. It's further proof that she's not afraid to mix it up every once in a while as long as her signature print is present throughout her outings.

Why Does Queen Elizabeth Wear Florals?

Now, her love for florals is not new. The monarch has been wearing the print long before the Kates, Meghans and Beatrices of the worlds. The official royal Instagram account is constantly posting throwbacks of the queen, and floral dresses are always in the center of it all. Just check out this birthday outfit from her 80th celebration at Buckingham Palace in 2006 above.

As you continue to scroll through, it's clear that blue is definitely the queen's go-to color. (Think: The 1999 visit to South Korea and the 2000 visit to New South Wales, to name a few.) Her love for the print goes back to the 50s, and we have a feeling it's not going away anytime soon.
