Regé-Jean Page Just Made a *Major* ‘Bridgerton’ Confession

Pssst, Regé-Jean Page has something to say about Bridgerton season two and some fans may be shocked to hear it.

While promoting his new Netflix movie, The Gray Man, Page talked to Variety about Bridgerton season two. When asked about his thoughts, the 34-year-old actor revealed he didn’t watch the second installment.

In the new season, fans got a chance to see Daphne’s older brother, Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), fall in love with Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley). And…it seems the Bridgerton alum hasn’t gotten around to watching it yet. “I haven’t caught it. I haven’t caught up on it,” Page said.

If that weren’t enough, the Roots alum made another revelation that’s sure to rock the entire Bridgerton fandom: he’s open to the role of Simon Basset being recast. If the question were to arise, Page would support the show’s decision to do so.

“Shonda [Rhimes] and I had a wonderful conversation at the end of season one. We were quite happy with how we'd stuck the landing on that one. I’m still proud of how we stuck the landing on that one,” he explained.

Back in 2021, Page announced that he would not return for Bridgerton season two on Instagram. While sharing a snapshot of himself dressed in regency-era attire, he wrote, “The ride of a lifetime. It’s been an absolute pleasure and a privilege to be your Duke.”

He continued, “Joining this family - not just on screen, but off-screen too. Our incredibly creative and generous cast, crew, [and] outstanding fans - it’s all been beyond anything I could have imagined. The love is real and will just keep growing.”

Looks like a Simon cameo may be out of the question then?
