Sarah Ferguson Has a Surprising Royal Nickname—and Her Daughter Just Revealed It

When it comes to creating cheeky nicknames, Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson doesn’t need help in that department. In a past interview with Town & Country, the Duchess of York, 64, shared that she often calls her youngest daughter, Princess Eugenie, by the name “Euge.” Even in a throwback birthday post, Ferguson called Eugenie “Magic Dust” in the caption. 

But does the royal princess have a secret moniker for her mom? Earlier this month, Eugenie and Ferguson sat down for an exclusive interview for The Anti-Slavery Collective, a charity Eugenie co-founded with her close friend, Julia de Boinville, to help raise awareness of modern slavery.

In a clip taken from the interview (see above), the 33-year-old princess calls her mom by her nickname: “mumsy.” While noting her mother’s remarkable work at Sarah’s Trust, Eugenie says, “You are a huge inspiration to me and Beatrice and Jules, my co-founder of The Anti-Slavery Collective. Your mission from the very beginning of time, before Beatrice and I were born, has been to impact other people's lives around the world. And it's been such an inspiration to me growing up.”

Touched by her daughter’s kind words, Ferguson goes on to share, “I’m just really proud of Beatrice and Eugenie and my Julia, my girlies.” She continues, “I believe that one of the finest things I've ever done in my life is making you and Beatrice the people you are, by guiding you through philanthropy and impact.”
