Royal Family Releases New Portrait for Princess Charlotte’s Birthday

It’s official! Princess Charlotte is turning six years old, and she’s looking more like her mom, Kate Middleton, by the day.

Today, the royal family released an official portrait in honor of her sixth birthday on May 2. The pic features Princess Charlotte wearing a blue floral dress as she smiles for the camera. The image was taken by Middleton.

We’re not entirely sure how Princess Charlotte is celebrating her sixth birthday. The festivities are likely to take place at her Kensington Palace residence, Apartment 1A. Although she was self-isolating at Anmer Hall, she just recently moved back to the Cambridge family’s main abode for summer.

Expected attendees include Char’s parents, Middleton and Prince William, and her two siblings: Prince George (7) and Prince Louis (3). Perhaps her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, will pay her a visit, along with grandparents Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles. Since Prince Harry already returned to the U.S. following Prince Philip’s funeral, we don’t expect him (or Meghan Markle) to join the celebrations. That is, unless they arrange a royal family Zoom call.

Princess Charlotte has previously expressed interest in horseback riding and photography, so we wouldn’t be surprised if the itinerary includes a few outdoor activities. Of course, the family will probably sing a rendition of “Happy Birthday,” which is Prince Louis’s favorite song.

Wishing a very happy birthday to the one and only, Princess Charlotte.
