Prince William Spilled the Tea About Princess Charlotte's 'Rowdy' 4th Birthday Party

Prince William, second in line to the throne, Duke of Cambridge and future King of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth realms, is planning a 4-year-old's birthday (and it sounds better than any party we've been to, TBH).

His second child and only daughter, Princess Charlotte, turned 4 on Thursday, May 2. In honor of her birthday, the Cambridges have decided to throw the little princess a big birthday bash. William revealed as much to children's author Julia Donaldson during a royal investiture ceremony.

According to ITV, the prince and dad of three told Donaldson as she received her CBE that Charlotte was having a  “rowdy party with lots of friends." We'd expect nothing less, Lottie.

Prince William went on to reveal details of the secret bash to the author of best-selling children's book The Gruffalo during the Buckingham Palace ceremony, according to royal reporter Rebecca English. However, the author didn't elaborate any further. She did say, though, that William told her The Gruffalo was one of Charlotte, George and Louis's favorite books. 

In honor of little Lottie's big day, Kensington Palace's instagram account debuted three new pictures of Charlotte taken at their Norfolk home by her mum Kate Middleton. And Uncle Harry and Aunt Meghan couldn't help but gush like the rest of us over the adorableness that is the little b-day queen. They commented on their niece's pics from their Sussex Royal Instagram account: "Happy Birthday Charlotte! [birthday cake emoji] [balloon emoji] Lots of love, H and M xo."

While Aunt and Uncle Sussex probably won't attend the 4-year-old's celebrations (they're expecting a big surprise of their own, in case you haven't heard…), we're betting Charlotte, George and Louis will be joined by cousins Mia and Lena Tindall for the "rowdy" party.

And please don't forget the balloons, William. We all know they're a Charlotte fave.
