Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee is in full swing! To kick off the special celebration, Kate Middleton, Prince Louis, Princess Charlotte, Prince George and Camilla Parker-Bowles all rode together on a horse-drawn carriage in the Trooping the Colour parade. For the occasion, Louis re-wore an outfit first donned by his father, Prince William, in his youth (per People).
Prince Louis Rocks Sailor Outfit His Father Wore Three Decades Ago for Trooping the Colour
The 4-year-old prince wore the same sailor suit worn by Prince William in the year 1985. (Talk about a blast from the past.) The Duke of Cambridge sported the ensemble to Trooping at just the age of two. In the photo below, you can see a young William standing alongside his parents, Prince Charles and Princess Diana (and a baby Prince Harry!).
This particular Trooping appearance is a very special occasion for the Cambridge children. In case you didn’t know, this is the first time they have participated in the parade celebration for the queen’s birthday. It’s worth noting that they’ve been captured in the infamous Trooping the Colour balcony photo, but they have not appeared in the parade.
Middleton also re-wore an outfit from her royal closet. The Duchess of Cambridge rocked a white blazer dress designed by Alexander McQueen, with a white and blue Philip Treacy brimmed hat and earrings that belonged to the Princess of Wales.
Nothing really goes out of style, right?
