Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s Archewell Foundation Just Made Another Major Announcement

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Archewell Foundation just made a major announcement.

Today, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s charity announced that it’s partnering with two more non-profit organizations: Cortico—Local Voices Network (from MIT Media Lab) and The Institute for Rebooting Social Media at Harvard’s Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society. Archewell will offer grants to each group, so they can continue doing their part to better the community.

Both organizations seem right up the couple’s alley. Not only do the investments align with Archewell’s mission (which aims to unite people through impact-driven projects), but they’re also geared toward improving the digital community.

Cortico—Local Voices Network is a platform that “combines deep listening with artificial intelligence and natural language processing to identify what really matters to our underheard communities,” according to the Archewell website.

On the other hand, The Institute for Rebooting Social Media at Harvard’s Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society is “addressing society’s most urgent concerns surrounding social media, including hate speech and harassment, misinformation and privacy.”

In a statement, the Archewell Foundation explained that the “new fellowship will bring together experts and new innovators from diverse perspectives to address the challenges and opportunities of social media.”

This isn’t the first time that Prince Harry and Markle have recognized non-profit organizations for their stellar work. Last month, the royal couple celebrated Women’s History Month by offering grants to four noteworthy groups: The Center on Poverty and Inequality, National Women’s Law Center, The 19th and Smart Works.

Keep up the good work, Harry and Meghan.
