In case you missed it, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry welcomed their second child, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor (aka “Lili”), into the world earlier this weekend.
The couple shared the exciting news on their Archewell foundation website, saying, “It is with great joy that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, welcome their daughter, Lilibet “Lili” Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, to the world...This is the second child for the couple, who also have a two-year-old son named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. The Duke and Duchess thank you for your warm wishes and prayers as they enjoy this special time as a family.”
While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are enjoying time with the newest member of their family, they also wanted to celebrate the occasion by giving back. Instead of asking for gifts, they are requesting that people contribute to organizations dedicated to helping women.
The end of the birth announcement said: “For those inquiring on sending gifts, we would ask that you support or learn more about these organizations working for women and girls: Girls Inc., Harvest Home, CAMFED or Myna Mahila Foundation. While the Duke and Duchess are on parental leave, Archewell will continue to do important work and publish stories on the site. We look forward to seeing you!”
