A New Trailer for ‘Mrs. America’ Aired During the Oscars—and Cate Blanchett Looks Incredible

How we typically spend commercial breaks during the Oscars: Racing to the kitchen to refill our wine and snacks. But, lucky for us, we were still on our couch when FX served up a teaser trailer for Mrs. America, a new series that tells the true story of the movement to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment.

Compelling content for sure, but what caught our eye was Cate Blanchett—typically a star of the big screen—leading the television cast, which also happens to include Rose Byrne, Sarah Paulson, Uzo Aduba and more.

As for Blanchett, she plays Phyllis Schlafly, a lawyer and conservative who finds herself in a fight to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment during the 1970s. In typical Blanchett style—and judging from the trailer—she commands the room, not just with her fashion, but with her pitch perfect acting prowess.

Will you watch? We’re saving the date for the premiere—April 15, 2020—and setting our DVR now.
