Remember when Mindy Kaling announced that she’s partnering with Amazon to publish a candid essay collection? Well, it’s finally happening.
Yesterday, the 41-year-old actress posted a behind-the-scenes picture on Twitter that was taken at a recent photoshoot. In the caption, Kaling teased an upcoming collaboration with Amazon that sounds an awful lot like her previously announced gig.
She wrote, “Behind the scenes shooting something fun for @amazon @AmazonPub! Can’t wait to tell you more soon!”
Kaling didn’t specify details about the project, but we’re pretty sure it’s tied to the collection she discussed back in May 2019. The actress revealed that she was writing a series of essays that detail the good, the bad and the ugly sides of her life as a working mom.
Although it was supposed to be released this summer, it was likely delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. Now that the entertainment industry is implementing social distancing measures, we wouldn’t be surprised if Kaling is finally getting the ball rolling.
“It’s so exciting for me to share the secrets of how I balance being a professional writer, actor, and single mom in a new collection of essays I’m writing through @amazonpublishing,” she wrote on Instagram in 2019. “I mean, it would be so exciting to share those secrets. I don’t have them. Like, not even close. This morning I bribed my baby with a remote control to get my car keys back. But I do have funny stories about my life, and I can’t wait for you to read them.”
