If you’ve ever begrudgingly crawled into a tight space to please your children, you’re not alone.
Mindy Kaling recently shared a series of relatable parenting photos on her personal Instagram account. The slideshow features the Champions star, 41, crouched in a plastic playhouse, unable to move her limbs.
In the caption, Kaling explained that she was following instructions from her daughter, Katherine, who clearly underestimated her mom’s size. She wrote, “My Daughter asked me to come inside this and now I can’t get out.”
Parents immediately flooded the comments section with words of support, like this mother who couldn’t help but relate: “Mom life—I feel this. And we wouldn’t have it any other way.”
One dad shared an equally funny story, writing, “I remember a while back my kids asked me to get into a tent they’d made with blankets and chairs in the living room. I crawled in and fell asleep.” Another user made an aptly timed The Office joke: “‘That’s what she said’ — Michael Scott.”
Kaling welcomed her daughter back in 2017. (She has yet to reveal the father’s identity.) Katherine’s middle name, Swati, was inspired by the actress’s mother, Dr. Swati Chokalingam, who lost her battle to pancreatic cancer in 2012.
If no one hears from Kaling for a few days, it’s probably time to send the fire department.
