When it’s the Met Gala and the theme is “camp,” the unwritten dress code is “go big or go home.” Some celebrities had four costume changes, some went as Céline Dion and others just painted five extra eyes on their face and scared the sh*t out of us (ahem, looking at you, Ezra Miller).
But if you want to talk about someone who really committed, you have to give props to Mindy Kaling, who dyed her hair platinum blonde for the night. Behold:
OK, we confess we have a sneaking suspicion that this is just a very convincing, very high-quality wig. But on the off-chance it isn't, just imagine the hours she would've spent sitting in a chair with a head full of bleach.
Kaling's blonde locks were fittingly accented by a gold sequin gown designed by Jeremy Scott for Moschino, gold Casadei heels, plus a heaving sprinkling of silver and gold jewelry. She kept her makeup low-key, prepping her skin with a Joanna Vargas facial and topping it off with thick black lashes, frosty eyes and a nude lip. The final touch? A matching gold manicure, of course.
Fans were quick to point out that Kaling, 39, looked like she was channeling her Ocean's 8 character. But with Anna Wintour watching like a hawk, we're pretty sure the homage to the heist ended there.
