Fashion's biggest night is finally here: the Met Gala. This majorly stylish event is hosted by Lady Gaga, Serena Williams, Harry Styles and Gucci’s creative director, Alessandro Michele. The theme? “Camp: Notes on Fashion.” If you’re confused about this one, well, same. Here's a quick primer on what to expect.
The carpet kicked off with an over-the-top entrance by Lady Gaga who wore not one, but four separate looks by Brandon Maxwell. After shedding her original bubblegum pink gown, she revealed a sleek black ballgown and twirled around under a canopy of umbrellas. Maxwell himself cut away that dress to display yet another hot pink look, which Gaga accessorized with a clunky vintage cellphone. Finally, the A Star is Born actress stripped down into a sparkling bra, panties and matching tights. Now that's how you do a theme, people.
Check back throughout the night to see how all of your favorite fashion stars put their own spin on "camp," then, if you get the chance, head to the Met to see the coordinating Costume Institute exhibit, which will run from May 9 through September 8, 2019.
