Prince Harry and Meghan Markle recently shared a sneak peek of Lilibet’s first birthday party. It didn’t take long for royal aficionados to notice that Markle paid tribute to Princess Diana with her pinstripe pants.
This week, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released a never-before-seen portrait of Lilibet. The pic was featured in a slideshow that was posted by professional photographer Misan Harriman, who also shared a snap of Markle’s outfit.
If you scroll to the right, you’ll see a picture of Markle holding Lilibet and standing next to Harriman’s wife and kids. Markle is wearing pinstripe linen pants, which resemble this pair on Madewell for $78.
This isn’t the first time that Markle has taken fashion inspiration from her late mother-in-law. In fact, the duchess has donned similar ensembles on several occasions—like in 2018, when Markle wore a yellow Brandon Maxwell sheath to the Youth Challenge reception. (FYI, Princess Diana often wore yellow.)
When Markle was living in London, she frequently channeled the Princess of Wales’s style during royal outings, from glen plaid to sequin gowns. And when the duchess was pregnant with Archie and Lilibet, she didn’t stop. Remember her red-and-purple ensemble and her green coat dress?
