Earlier this week, the 2025 Emmy nominations (and snubs) dropped and the buzz was real. Apple TV+ stole the spotlight with Severance racking up 27 nods, while The Studio wasn’t far behind with 23. One historic moment came when Kathy Bates, at 77, became the oldest woman ever nominated for Lead Actress in a Drama. And while the industry celebrated the various nominations, Kristen Bell got a special kind of shoutout from her husband.

Kristen snagged an Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series nomination for her role as Joanne in the romantic comedy Nobody Wants This. And her husband, Dax Shepard, made sure to celebrate in his own unforgettable way. He shared an Instagram photo of Kristen striking a yoga pose in their backyard wearing nothing but bright blue knee-high socks. (See the photo here).

In his caption, Dax wrote, “People might not know everything that happens behind the scenes in order to create an Emmy nominated performance like Kristen’s. This may or may not have been a part of her training, but it felt right. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!”

The reaction? Pure gold. Comments flooded in, from “Hahahaha yesssss go girl! suns out buns out for that Emmy!!!” to “Most sentimental tribute ever posted by a proud husband!!!” One cheeky fan wrote, “downward facing Emmy nomineeeeeeee!” while another defended Kristen’s look, stating, “She’s not naked, people… she CLEARLY has socks on! God forbid a girl have a hobby.”

Even Gwyneth Paltrow weighed in with a simple, “Oh my God, Dax.”

Kristen isn’t alone in the comedy race. Also nominated for Best Comedy Actress are Uzo Aduba (The Residence), Ayo Edebiri (The Bear), Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary) and Jean Smart (Hacks).

Nobody Wants This also scored a nod for Outstanding Comedy Series and Adam Brody, Kristen’s on-screen love interest, is up for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.

Mark your calendars. The 77th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will air Sunday, September 14 on CBS. And if you haven’t yet, all of Nobody Wants This season one is streaming now on Netflix. (Psst—season two already has a release date.)
