It didn’t take long for Netflix to renew Adam Brody and Kristen Bell’s popular rom-com Nobody Wants This for season two. And now, the streaming service has made a brilliant casting decision for the new installment.

According to Variety, Brody’s real-life wife, Leighton Meester, is joining the cast of Nobody Wants This season two.
The Gossip Girl actress, 38, will portray a mommy influencer named Abby, who just so happens to be the childhood nemesis of Joanne (Kristen Bell). Although there isn’t a direct connection between Abby and Noah (Brody’s character), I have no doubt that the husband and wife duo will have many on-screen interactions.
Nobody Wants This also stars Stephanie Faracy, Michael Hitcock, Tovah Feldshuh, Paul Ben-Victor, Emily Arlook, Jackie Tohn, Sherry Cola and Shiloh Berman. Miles Fowler (A Man on the Inside) is also joining the cast as Noah’s Matzah Ballers teammate Lenny, who is a potential love interest for Morgan.
Nobody Wants This originally hit Netflix in September 2024, and it immediately claimed a spot on the streaming service’s list of most-watched shows.
In her honest review, PureWow editor Rachel Bowie wrote, “I’m happy to report Nobody Wants This delivers the opposite of what its title suggests. In fact, everybody wants this. (Bonus: At 30 minutes an episode, you can’t go wrong.)”
