Kerry Washington is breaking out the old photo albums, and one thing’s for sure: Good looks run in the family.
Yesterday, the Little Fires Everywhere star, 44, posted a rare childhood picture on her personal Instagram account, featuring three generations of women. The throwback pic shows baby Kerry posing with her mom, Valerie, and her two grandmothers, who are fawning over the newborn.
Although the photo is faded, there’s no denying the resemblance between Washington and her family members. Not only does the current-day actress look like her mom, but she’s also taking after grandmothers, who have a chic sense of style.
Washington captioned the post, “I love this picture so much. This is me (I’m the baby obvs!!), my mother, and BOTH of my grandmothers. As we head into Women’s History Month in March…let’s continue to celebrate Black history and the Black women in our lives who imprinted us with invaluable lessons and wisdom. #MyBlackHistory.”
Fans immediately flooded the comments section with praise for the rare photo. One person wrote, “I am so in love with these pictures. Your family is so special [heart emoji].” Another added, “Three generations. I just love the hold she has on you.”
This isn’t the first time Washington has posted photos of her lookalike mom. Last month, the actress shared a selfie on Instagram in honor of Valerie’s birthday. She wrote, “Today is a very special day. It’s the day that the fiercest lioness in my pride was born. My OG! The goddess of grace. Today is my mom’s birthday!!!!!! Help me send her some birthday loooooooove.”
