Kelly Ripa just shared details about her go-to makeup trick for her nose, and it changes everything.
Earlier today, the Live with Kelly and Ryan co-host, 50, posted a video on her Instagram Story while getting ready for the 93rd annual Academy Awards. The clip shows Ripa unveiling her secret beauty tip, which people often mistake for plastic surgery.
In the video (screenshot above), Ripa is getting glammed up by her team: hairstylist Ryan Trygstad and makeup artist Kristofer Buckle. The talk show host zooms in to show how Buckle applies bronzer to the sides of her nose to make it look smaller. Although this method is widely known as contouring, Ripa explains that people always accuse her of getting plastic surgery.
“This is the nose trick,” Ripa says in the video. “Because people still don’t understand how it works.”
Buckle chimes in to confirm the obvious, saying, “It’s just makeup, folks. No knives.” Ripa adds, “I know. But you do such a good job that people are convinced. It’s just contouring.”
Ripa is getting ready for the 2021 Oscar Awards, which will be broadcast on ABC. Although the ceremony will be held in Los Angeles, it won’t have a host or a live audience. This will allow for the nominees to attend the awards show and still abide by social distancing protocol.
