Katie Holmes somehow just upped her matching sweater and bra ante with a brand-new shirtless look.
It all started when the 40-year-old Dawson’s Creek alum shared behind-the-scenes pics of herself doing a photoshoot for Vogue Australia. In the slideshow she shared on Instagram, Holmes poses in a black oversize blazer, black silk wide-leg trousers and a minimalist black bra.
She finished the look off with no makeup, wet slicked back hair, gold architectural earrings and captioned the slideshow “#BTS @vogueaustralia it is wonderful to be working today with such amazing women!”
But it wasn’t just her outfit that caught fans’ attention. If you scroll to the second photo, you’ll also notice that Holmes is proudly baring stretch marks on her stomach. The photo is natural, unedited and a realistic portrayal of what real women’s bodies look like. Many women get stretch marks from carrying a child (ICYMI: she has a 13-year-old named Suri Cruise). But not every woman shares them proudly for all to see. As such, her fans and celebrity friends were quick to share their praise for Holmes’s body positivity.
One commenter wrote, “Love how beautiful and natural you are with your body. You aren’t afraid to show your body exactly how it is.” Another added, “So bold!! I love that you’re slightly showing the pregnancy warrior marks. You go girl!!!!” Yet another quipped, “I love [your] lioness stripes @katieholmes212. True beauty of a mother.”
Meanwhile, actress Naomi Watts reacted with three clapping emojis, three hearts and the word “Gorgeous.” As Joey Potter as ever, Holmes replied to Watts, saying, “Oh, thank u! You are so kind.”
Between slaying the fashion game and proudly sharing her natural body, Katie Holmes really won 2019. We’re excited to see what 2020 brings.
