Does Karamo Brown Have a Husband? Everything We Know About His Relationship History

It looks like Karamo Brown, also known as one-fifth of Queer Eye’s Fab Five, is getting a second chance at love.

Several months after his split with ex-fiancé Ian Jordan, the culture expert shared romantic pics of himself cozying up to someone new on Instagram. And naturally, fans are thrilled for the TV personality. So while Karamo Brown may not have a husband yet, we are extremely curious about his rumored boyfriend. Keep reading for all the deets on Brown's romantic history.

Meet Karamo Brown’s Kids, Jason and Chris

1. Is Karamo Brown Married?

Although the TV host was previously engaged, he is currently not married. However, by the looks of his Instagram page, Brown is officially off the market and happily seeing someone new.

Early in July, he posted a pic of himself posing with his new partner, who's seen with his arm around Brown's shoulders. The star wrote, "Me & Carlos." And in the comments, his Queer Eye co-star, Tan France, responded, "IG official." Bobby James Berk also wrote, "Oooohhhhhh! There he is! Love you two!"

2. Who Is Brown's Boyfriend, Carlos Medel?

According to his LinkedIn page, Medel is currently a photographer and art director at a company called Chile Bravo. He has worked on several advertising campaigns and has quite a few impressive skills, including photo retouching and video producing.

While Medel is currently on Instagram, his profile is set to private, so it's likely that he'll be keeping his personal life (and current relationship with Brown) out of the spotlight.

3. How Did Brown And Medel Meet?

So far, we know that the couple started dating before Brown made it IG official on July 6, but as for how and when they met, we're not 100 percent sure.

It's worth noting, however, that the Queer Eye star announced he met someone new during the pandemic, just a few months after he ended his engagement to Ian Jordan. If you recall, he announced in October that he would totally be down to become the next Bachelor, but then, he confirmed that he only made the comment in jest, adding that he was already "smitten" with someone. In November, he told Entertainment Tonight, "That's the word I keep using, because I'm not someone to jump into anything. But I am smitten."

Though he didn't confirm the mystery guy's identity, it's definitely possible that he was referring to Medel.

4. Who Is Brown's Ex-fiancé, Ian Jordan?

Like Brown, Jordan works in the entertainment industry—but from behind the camera. According to IMDB, he worked as an assistant director on shows like The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and Raven’s Home, and he also served as a talent coordinator for classic TV shows, including Drake & Josh, All That and Zoey 101. (Basically, a millennial preteen’s dream job.)

5. When Did They Get Engaged?

After eight years together, Brown proposed to Jordan in 2018 with a David Yurman ring. However, the couple were forced to postpone their wedding due to the coronavirus pandemic. So naturally, the Queer Eye star re-proposed during self-quarantine. (You know, just in case Jordan had a change of heart.)

“I’m Engaged... Again!” he wrote on Instagram. “During this Quarantine I have fallen even deeper in love w/ my fiancé @theianjordan so on his bday / which is also our anniversary I proposed again. Our wedding has been canceled/postponed like so many other people but I still wanted to celebrate our love. I love you Sugah!”

6. When Did Brown And Jordan Break Up?

When he appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in September 2020, Brown explained that he and Jordan mutually agreed to split up earlier that year. He said, "It was postponed because of the pandemic, but now it's postponed officially. My fiancé and I, we were together for 10 years and we broke up about three and a half months ago."

Brown revealed that while the breakup was difficult, he and his ex are still on friendly terms. He continued, "Luckily there was no cheating. We're good friends. It's very nice when it's ‘I still love you and support you' and I want him to be happy, he wants me to be happy, but yeah, no more wedding."

Perhaps there are wedding bells in the future for Brown and his new beau? Guess we'll have to wait and see.
