Gwyneth Paltrow & Daughter Apple Are the Spitting Image of One Other in Sun-Soaked Selfie

There’s nothing quite like the moment you realize a parent and their child could have been separated at birth. And while Gwyneth Paltrow and her daughter, Apple Martin, have always shared a striking resemblance, their latest photo has me doing a serious double take.

In an Instagram carousel posted on August 14, the actress, 53, shared a photo of herself and her 22-year-old daughter lounging together on a daybed, and the two practically look like twins born a few decades apart.

Paltrow wore a plunging black ensemble with matching sunglasses, styling her blonde hair pulled back. Apple, meanwhile, opted for a red-and-white striped bikini top and wore her hair down in loose waves. Both appeared to be makeup-free, making their similar features even more noticeable.

The post, captioned “Summer, so far so good,” also featured a colorful assortment of berries, including raspberries, blueberries and blackberries, a photo of the pool and house, and a snap of Apple admiring some flowers. Paltrow also included a black-and-white photo of herself appearing topless.

Basically, it was a very on-brand summer photo dump, but the mother-daughter moment was the standout.

The timing of the post is also notable, as this marks Apple’s first summer since graduating from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, where she earned a degree in Law, History, and Society.

Back on April 30, Apple shared a series of photos from her graduation, including snaps with friends posing in their caps and gowns around campus.

“A bittersweet moment. How lucky we are to have these memories,” she captioned the post.

Now that she’s officially a college grad, it looks like Apple is making the most of her summer. And judging by her latest photo with Mom, she’s also giving us plenty of evidence that the Paltrow family resemblance is very much alive and well.
