Will More Familiar Faces Return to the ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Beach? Star Jake Borelli Weighs In

As we gear up for the return of Grey’s Anatomy, there’s only one question on our mind: Will Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) be OK after that mysterious cliffhanger?

PureWow recently sat down for an exclusive interview with star Jake Borelli (who plays Dr. Levi Schmitt) to discuss the upcoming mid-season premiere, which doubles as a crossover between Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19.

Unfortunately, the 29-year-old actor didn’t give away too many spoilers. “You’re definitely going to have to tune in to find out,” he told PureWow.

However, Borelli confirmed that it’s a must-watch event. “You won’t want to miss a beat of this return,” he said. “When I found out what happens, my jaw hit the floor. It’s going to change everything.”

Borelli also discussed Meredith’s beach dream land that emerged at the beginning of season 17. Although it’s a result of her touch-and-go battle with COVID-19, it hasn’t been all bad, since the fantasy world has reunited her with several familiar faces, like Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) and George O’Malley (T.R. Knight).

According to Borelli, it’s only just begun. “I was just as giddy and shocked when I found out that we were going to have some returning O.G. cast members,” he added. “That beach is shaking things up, and I kind of feel like anything could happen there.”

If you need us, we’ll be crossing our fingers for more cameos.

Grey’s Anatomy airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
