Erivo's stylist, Jason Bolden, shared the full look on Instagram and wrote, "MY LUCKY CHARM. VALENTINO COUTURE." Not surprisingly, countless fans lit up the comments with compliments, and viewers on Twitter were equally impressed. One fan shared, "Beyond obsessed with Cynthia Erivo in Valentino couture." Another tweeted, "Cynthia Erivo in neon green at the #GoldenGlobes is the moment."
While chatting with E! News during a pre-show broadcast, Bolden revealed that Erivo actually had no idea that this would be her Golden Globes look. He revealed, "Cynthia knew nothing about this dress, but she trusts me and allows me to be creative."
He added, "The shoes are like skyscrapers; the color and the shape is so bold—and why not?!—to add some much-needed fantasy. The neon green tea-length dress reminds me of scuba fabric."
Previously, the actress was nominated for two Golden Globes awards, including Best Actress in a Drama Motion Picture for Harriet and Best Original Song in a Motion Picture "Stand Up."
If you ask us, Erivo totally deserves an award for this trend-setting ensemble.
