Everyone needs a friend like Bowen Yang. Not only is he hilariously talented (hello, he's on SNL), but he’s also the ultimate hype man. And if you need proof, just ask his Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo.

On a recent episode of his Las Culturistas podcast with Matt Rogers, Yang shared his thoughts on the 2025 Grammys—and naturally, Erivo’s powerhouse performance got a well-deserved shoutout. Taking the stage at the 67th annual awards, Erivo delivered a stunning rendition of "Fly Me to the Moon" as part of a tribute to the legendary Quincy Jones.

Yang didn’t hold back on the praise. “Cynthia Erivo is maybe the best singer in the world,” he declared. And because he’s the friend we all wish we had, he actually texted Erivo while she was performing. “I did text her while she was singing,” he admitted. His message? “I think you are unequivocally one of the best vocalists of all time.”

“Everything about that performance was crazy,” Yang continued. “The amount of people that went up there and just completely demolished and created a feeling of euphoria in that room.”

Yang and Erivo worked onWicked together, where they play Pfannee and Elphaba, respectively. And because Bowen never stops delivering, he also recently spilled some tea about a very interesting deleted scene featuring Jonathan Bailey (Fiyero).

According to Yang, there was a scrapped moment where Bailey and Ethan Slater (Boq) both went shirtless.

“You were supposed to see Jonathan Bailey in his full shirtless glory, like flexing,” Yang revealed. “And then Boq, in the story of the movie, being insecure and wanting to look hot too, [takes] his shirt off. But then it’s like, ‘wait, Ethan’s got a great body.’”

Justice for the deleted scenes.
