In addition to Camilla, several interesting things can be spotted in the photo. For instance, there are no fewer than three portraits of dogs (one of a Schnauzer is actually painted). There are also several black-and-white photos from her childhood, some of her grandchildren and what appears to be one from her wedding day to Prince Charles. We also spotted a fetch toy in the bottom left corner of the pic and some gorgeous flowers, presumably from the pastoral gardens at Birkhall.
While she and her 71-year-old husband are maintaining social distancing, Camilla has stepped up her efforts as president of the Royal Volunteer Service. Since announcing a new coronavirus response mission, Clarence House says 750,000 people have signed up to volunteer their time to deliver medicine from pharmacies, drive patients to and from the hospital, make wellness check calls and transport medical supplies and equipment from the National Health Service.
The Duchess of Cornwall has even personally checked in via telephone on an 85-year-old woman named Doris, who has been self-isolating for the last two weeks.
The duchess also released a message of thanks to the NHS Volunteer Responders and NHS workers, saying, “Everyone working in the NHS is under unimaginable pressure day and night in this crisis. I feel sure that the presence of so many wonderful volunteers will encourage, as well as support them. I salute each one of you and thank you with all my heart.”
