Archie Turns 2! Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s Son Is Celebrating His Birthday Today

Celebrations are in order for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, who is officially two years old.

Today, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrated Archie’s second birthday and released a brand-new photo of their son on the official Archewell website.

Members of the royal family including Kate Middleton and Prince William as well as Queen Elizabeth have already shared their birthday wishes for Archie. Her Majesty captioned a throwback photo, “Wishing Archie Mountbatten-Windsor a very happy 2nd birthday today,” while the Cambridges wrote, “Wishing Archie a very happy 2nd birthday today.”

Prince Harry and Markle have kept Archie out of the spotlight ever since they stepped down as senior royals and relocated to Montecito, California. The Duke and Duchess talked about their new life during their tell-all conversation with Oprah Winfrey, which aired on CBS.

During the interview, Prince Harry and Markle released a brand-new video of Archie, who is sporting a full head of hair as he walks along the beach. They also gave us a never-before-seen glimpse of their backyard, including Archie’s Chick Inn.

The chicken coop—which is playfully run by Archie—is home to several hens that were rescued from a factory farm. When Oprah pressed Meghan on the chicken coop, she quite simply explained: “I just love rescuing.”

It will be Archie’s last birthday as an only child—the couple is expecting their second child, a daughter, sometime this summer.
