It's time for Raspberry Blush to take a backseat, because there's a new trending color that's about to dominate the home décor industry.
Benjamin Moore just revealed their Color of the Year 2024: Blue Nova. The color, which the paint company describes as “a sumptuous blue-violet that captures the spotlight with endlessly classic appeal,” follows recent winners like Raspberry Blush (2023), October Mist (2022), Aegean Teal (2021) and First Light (2020).
The 2024 winner was announced on the official Benjamin Moore Instagram account early Wednesday, October 11.
“Chosen to inspire you to elevate the everyday and expand your horizons through color, #ColorOfTheYear2024 Blue Nova 825 balances depth and intrigue while being versatile enough to use in a myriad of ways,” the company teased.
Blue Nova is one of the ten colors included in the Benjamin Moore Color Trends 2024 palette. The other nine colors include: White Dove (OC-17), Pristine (OC-75), Topaz (070), Teacup Rose (2170-50), Honeybee (CSP-950), Regent Green (2136-20), Antique Pewter (1560), Polar Sky (1674) and Hazy Lilac (2116-40).
Followers seemed pretty happy with the choice of Blue Nova. One user wrote, “Was literally looking at this colour for my guestroom just the other week.” Another commented, “I was guessing a cool colour! I'm happy to see a mid-tone that has some life and depth to it. Love it paired with the Topaz!”
Along with the announcement, another post was shared to the Benjamin Moore page, which read: “We’re so excited to have announced the space-inspired Color of the Year, Blue Nova 825, at Blue Origin’s Orbital Launch Site in Cape Canaveral, FL. As an authority in color and design, we partnered with Blue Origin and its nonprofit Club for the Future to mutually inspire and mobilize future generations about STEM education and careers in the space industry. The organizations will reimagine design at local community hospitals, create space-themed experiences at upcoming events, and more.”
