A few weeks ago I set my sights on tracking down the perfect pair of heart-shaped earrings to wear with my after party dress for my wedding. The whole look was very cheeky, very ‘60s, so I wanted something a little bit kitschy, and fairly quickly found a handful of designs that checked all my boxes. But then something odd happened: I suddenly started seeing heart jewelry everywhere I looked. This wasn’t just Google and Instagram reading my mind and serving me ads. Hearts of all kinds were scattered amongst showgoers during New York Fashion Week, they appeared on the necks, wrists and ears of folks on the subway and strolling around NYC and, perhaps most notably, I started getting tons of emails from jewelry brands touting their latest heart-themed collections. I could finally confirm, this wasn’t just the Baader–Meinhof phenomenonheart jewelry is officially trending for 2024.

As a millennial, this trend immediately took me back to the early aughts when everyone I knew wanted to get their hands on an Elle Woods-inspired heart tag necklace from Tiffany & Co. The chunky chain and heart-shaped charm were an iconic symbol of the style of the day, whether you sported the real deal or a more affordable dupe, like myself and nearly every single girl in my eighth grade class. Of course, what goes around comes around, and Y2K era fashion is now (perhaps shockingly, for those of us who lived it the first time around) back en vogue, from scarf tops to capris and now heart jewelry.

The 2024 version of the trend appears to really run the gamut. There are over-the-top statement earrings a la Keeley Jones of Ted Lasso, as well as daintier tennis bracelets for a more subtle impact.  There’s truly something here for everyone. Case in point, the 14 gorgeous heart jewelry pieces below that are 100 percent on trend and 100 percent getting added to my shopping cart.

These huggies (which also come in gold) have a slightly edgy vibe that perfectly offsets the sweetness of the heart shape. They are just under 1-inch long, making them a great statement piece to add to any outfit.

The oversize chain links and heart charm pay homage to the Tiffany heart tag necklace, but feel less like an overt throwback thanks to the open heart and gold tone. At 16 inches, it is a shorter chain, but reviewers say it looks oh-so elegant IRL.

Sport two Y2K trends at once with this adjustable rope necklace. Loop it around for a choker fit, or let it hand lower with a dainty bow in back. The charm is also surprisingly lightweight given its size.

These 14k gold-plated drop earrings are 1.5 inches long and wonderfully lightweight. They also have a more organic feel with an asymmetrical hoop and hammered heart that will still look gorgeous even after this trend fades in favor of something new.

Available in both 14k gold- and silver-dipped brass, this chain-link bracelet is definitely giving off Tiffany vibes. There are two clasp links so you wear it at either 6.75 or 7.38 inches depending on the size of your wrist, and reviewers note that the charm is fairly light, so you won’t feel bogged down by mid-afternoon.

Baublebar has tons of heart-shaped options, but these earrings stole our attention as an absolute have-have thanks to their versatility and timeless design. The simple gold sextet of hearts can be worn to dress up a simple white tee or to accompany your favorite wedding guest dress. And right now you can score 25 percent off (no code necessary) during Baublebar’s Friends & Family event.

Double the hearts, double the fun. Choose from a single initial or a handful of symbols (including a paw, rainbow or moon) to accompany the Mother of Pearl charm on this chain bracelet. Then decide between gold or silver and prepare yourself for the wave of compliments that’s sure to come.

For those who like to make a bold statement, this abstract design from J.Crew is just the ticket. “Love the unique heart shape!” writes one reviewer. “They have some weight but not too much that they are uncomfortable after an hour.” Just be sure you remove them before showering or taking a dip to maintain that gorgeous gold tone.

For a daintier silhouette that’s still interesting, try this Mejuri beauty. It’s available in both gold vermeil and sterling silver with a chain that can be worn at either 16 or 18 inches. But the real charm of this necklace is the fact that the chain runs right through the top of the heart, almost like a stitch of thread.

The combo of the ball chain and oversize black heart are really giving throwback Y2K vibes in the best way possible. Be sure to wear this one either over a turtleneck or low-cut V to really allow that bold charm to steal the show.

These double-heart drop earrings feel extremely Keeley Jones, but are also available in black for those who prefer something with a bit more attitude. With a 3-inch drop, they are definitely not for the shy among us, but reviewers say they’re both lightweight and incredibly fun IRL.

The heart on this silver-dipped brass necklace is far more subtle than many others on this list, but the combination of the color and the toggle closure make it feel perhaps closest in look to the Tiffany & Co. heart tag charm. The chain is 17.5 inches long and reviewers note that the color is more of a matte silver, and less overtly shiny.

The openness of this pair of heart earrings is really what drew me in at first glance. They feel fresh, modern and so wearable for so many occasions. They are about 2 inches long—just the right length to make a statement without being overwhelming.

Another gorgeous organic design, this heart ring by Aureum comes in both sterling silver and 24k gold vermeil to mix and match with your other rings. Just note, this style is only available in whole sizes (5 through 9), but you can always check the ring size chart provided if you’re unsure.
